El Escorial, Madrid
The most famous building is known as Monasterio de El Escorial. It is located 45km northwest of Madrid another perfect location for a day trip. On the outskirts of San Lorenzo de El Escorial is the national memorial Valle de los Caidos (Valley of the Fallen) which I have yet to discover. Hope to visit it someday.
