From Diaper to Toilet trained

We started to potty train Enrique when he was about 26 months. It took us about two months to complete the whole process and he has wet many pants in childcare and at home. It was a hassle for me to change the bed sheet and waterproof sheet every now and then.

Once his day routine is in stable mode, we started to train him for the night routine. We started by bringing him to the toilet after his milk and just before he sleeps. We put on diaper for him and emphasise to him that he should wake up and pee in the toilet if he wants to during the night. We did it for about two weeks and we found that he was able to control and never pee on his diaper. We waited for another few more days before we remove it totally. Nightmare starts from there. In the middle of the night I would wake up to carry him to the toilet. He cried and shouted loudly, sometimes disturbed his little brother too. I did this for about two weeks and share with him in the morning about what has happened. He begin to understand and base on my gut feel. I stopped carrying him to the toilet. I told him that from the day on, I will not carry him, he has to tell me himself if he wants to pee in the middle of the night, if not, I will have to wash the bed sheet, and clean the bed which mummy has lots of things to do and have less time to play with him. Also, the discipline goes together. "If you pee on the bed, mummy will beat you very hard and you will not like it" This helps too. At the end of the two months, he was quite well trained but occasionally, he will still wet on the bed. Even during the day, when he was too engrossed or lazy to tell, accident happens too.

The BIG mistake I made was to put on diaper in the night for him when I was back in Singapore as I was afraid that he will wet others bed. Its kind of gave him the wrong message. Although he had it on, he would still says he wants to pee and I have to remove the diaper but when I decided to remove it totally, he peed on the bed again. I regretted my decision.

So I have to trained him all over again!! The first night he peed, I scolded him and warned him of canning. The second night again, I gave him one last chance. The third night, I gave him a good beating and shared the inconvenience he has caused. From there, everything is well now. Today is his 6th day without any accident. I made a promised to him that if he continuous for 10 days never pee on the bed, I will bring him to the Singapore Zoo. He was very excited about it and was proud every morning to say that he never pee on the bed and ask me how many days and when he can go to the Zoo.

Three cheers for Enrique! Mummy loves you.

Share with me your stories.

New wardrobe after shedding off 5kg

Yeah..Yeah..Yeah! Haha…

I managed to lose 5kg in 24 days by Traditional Chinese Medicine using 'baguan' cupping.

After slimming down, I gained some self confidence and begin to shop for clothes that I don't dare to wear after childbirth. Below are some new clothes that I bought from Singapore.

There is one dress that I bought from Madrid during sales and I love the loud prints by Teria Yabar @ Serrano street.

Teenagers and working adults love to shop at Far East Plaza. It was opened from 1982 along Orchard road. You can find Tattoo parlours, eateries and many fashion shops, especially Korea and Hong Kong fashion. LovethatBag and other bags shops selling luxury brands such as Kate Spade, Chanel, Prada and Hermes can be found there too.

About 4 years ago, I discovered a shop at Far East Plaza level 4, Ching owned by a Taiwanese lady who have lived in Korea for a few years. I love her collection as some are designer pieces with affordable prices. I love dresses and she has many to choose from. Weather it's for work, tea party, formal dinner or weekends, you can find a few good and nice pieces. After childbirth with my out of shape figure, I do not dare to step in but now with 5kg lesser, I decided to check out for new arrivals last week. I got myself one dress which was told be a Escada Sport design, a top from Valentino and skirt by Miu Miu. I don't really bothers if what she shared is true or otherwise. I tried and love it so I bought them.

New hair cut and highlight

Everytime when I come back to Singapore, I will definitely look for my hairstylist whom I followed for more than 10 years to give my hair a new look. Sometimes, I get a little supertitious- when things don't go too well, I will also trimmed my hair to remove the bad luck.

Since Chinese New Year is just next week, I hurried and decided to cut, dye and highlight my hair.

My hairstylist, Sherman Lew has never failed me. I always leave it to him to cut, choose the colour or the curls.

DIY curls with automatic machine

Few months back, my friend has asked me to help her to look for BaByliss Pro, Mira curl machine in Madrid but I didn't managed to find. Madrid only sell those normal ones which you have to twist and turn yourself.

Recently, she showed me some photos of her with her DIY curls using this automatic curl machine and I was impressed as my friend is one who doesn't love to make up. But the fact that she can do the curls, I pondered for a while and decided to try it on my own before  investing one. I love curls on my hair but I am a little lazy to maintain it with hair products. With this, I can have the luxury to have curls as and when I feel like.

I went to Far East Plaza basement and found the shop- NH (Natural Hair). They displayed the machine and even showed on TV how it works and the style you can get using the machine.

Without much hesitation, I got my butt on the chair and asked to try it on my own. The sales assistant was very helpful and guide me along. I spent approximately 30 mins to finish my curls. Knowing that this machine was imported from HongKong, I watsapp my aunt who was married there and coming back during CNY, I asked her to help me to check the price. And yes, it is about $25 cheaper than Singapore. I have ordered one. Waiting for her return so that I can do it during CNY.

Singapore's wild wild west (Kranji Countryside)

I received a call from my aunty to say that my uncle is gong to fetch us to Lim Chu Kang to a Goat's Farm. It ended up was a day of farm hopping. My children enjoyed themselves a lot.

We started with Hay Dairies, Goat's farm, followed by Frog farm, Fish Farm and last at Punggol end, Punggol Horse Ranch.

At Kranji Country side you can find Agriculture- vegetables and livestock, Horticulture- ornamentals & orchidsand Fisheries-edible & ornamental. I think it is a very good way to spend your weekends with your family and friends as you can learn and bond together.

Hay Dairies
Purchase at the farm and home deliveries are available. I saw 3 families buying boxes of it home. They have a large and spacious seating area and we used it to feed our children lunch and also bought two bottles of the fresh goat's milk to drink. I personally find it quite nice and do not mind to drink it again. I also have friends who gave their children and babies goat's milk powder and they have very good comments on the benefits too.
